I still remember driving to go look at a jobsite and listening to Randy Galloway on WBAP, he was talking about the catcher the Rangers were going to call up from AA Tulsa. Said the kid had to get married first, and they did a hurry up ceremony on the field in Tulsa before Pudge caught a plane to meet the team. He really did live up to the hype.
In those days I still had season tickets to the Rangers and saw Pudge play many games, both in the old Stadium and the new Ballpark. He is in my opinion the greatest Texas Ranger to ever wear the uniform. I am glad the team is talking to him about having him being a part of the organization, something the Rangers did with Nolan Ryan when he retired.
