The proprietor of this blog is Keller City Councilman Place 6 Doug Miller. I started the blog long before I ran for office and wrote on former City Councilman Jim Carson’s Blog Keller City Limits before that. I have been actively involved in Keller since I moved here in 1999.
The views represented here are my own, they are not the official views of the City of Keller, any other Keller City Councilman or employee. They also do not represent my wife’s views, nor of her employer.
You can contact me at doug at beyondrightfield.com or call me on my cell at 214.215.0870. Be aware that any email sent to me at that address or my official City of Keller email address that pertains to City business is a public record of which copies can be requested by any citizen under the Freedom of Information Act.
Why the name Beyond Right Field?
My son played Right Field in High School and College, the name was originally intended as a way to remind myself to move beyond watching my son play baseball 100 nights a year. The blog was my way of doing that.
I write about what I love…sports, politics, music, the stock market and anything else that comes across my mind that day.

I like your new venue and you did a great job setting it up. Wishing you many posts and debates.
Love,
ME

Who is your employer? Have you been involved in any development projects in Keller, if so please describe along with total project dollars? Do you have any future development plans within Keller, if so please describe along with anticipated project dollars? Have you ever benefited professionally from decisions made by any city board of commission, if so please explain and detail any involvement you, or your wife, may have had in the decision?
Craig, my employer is Bobby Lee & Co., Inc. where I’ve been for 20 years. We are not a property developer, but a subcontractor that does masonry and stucco work. We don’t do site selection, nor do we work with owners or property developers. We are on the third tier of the business. Besides, we have not done a single project in Keller since I was appointed to P&Z.
In fact, the last project we did in Keller was nearly 6 years ago and it was for a client we have been working with for over 20 years. Most of our work is repeat business.
In my time on P&Z, I recused myself one time, and that is when a General Contractor that I was doing some work for was coming into town to build a facility. I purposely didn’t bid the project with them even though I recused myself.
My wife served on the Keller Pointe steering committee (actually, it was the Keller Rec Center Steering Committee). The Pointe, City Hall, the Police and Jail Facility and the new Fire Station were built by Byrne Construction Company, a company that we don’t do any work with.
Thanks.
Doug,
Hello, my name is Wayne Kintz. I have an off and on reader of your blog over the past year since our family relocated to Keller from the central Ohio area. I must admit your passion for baseball is what first drew me to the site but I come back at least once a week to stay in tune with the development of our town. Which is why I am emailing you now.
See the attached hyperlink from a recent issue of the Dallas Business Journal : http://www.bizjournals.com/dallas/news/2011/09/16/ripken-eyeing-dallas-for-youth.html
I have connected with a regional manager for Ripken Baseball who has been tasked with building the network of youth baseball rec/select contacts in the area. As you can reference via the hyperlink, the final site selection process is a few months away but how great would it be to see a “Ripken Experience” facility in the area. Anyway, I didn’t know what contacts you would be able to pass along. It would be great to meet face to face sometime over the next few weeks if you have a chance. Thanks in advance for your response.
Regards,
Wayne Kintz
